A quick check in the dictionary will tell you pajamas are “clothes for wearing to bed and sleeping in, usually consisting of a loose-fitting shirt and pants/trousers.” But since we have the likes of Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Elle Fanning, Victoria Beckham and a slew of others in our generation, the nightwear has gone beyond an indoor staple to a basic daytime ensemble. Maybe it’s time for dictionaries to update the definition or better still, a name change because we’re already convinced the nighties are even chicer, glamorous on the streets than on the bed.
