According to a French study released by the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, researchers found that men care more about physical apppearance of a woman. The study says that men were way more helpful to women who wore sky-high heels compared to women who wore flats. For the study, women were dressed exactly the same, except for their footwear, and in different scenarios, men acted more chivalrous towards the women.
In one experiment, men were asked by women, wearing flats and high heels, to take part in a survey. For the women wearing heels, 83% of men were willing to participate while only 47% of men offered to help the women in flats. When the same women “accidentally” dropped their gloves in a separate experiment, a shocking 93% of men picked it up for the women in high heels versus only 62% for non-heel wearing women.
In the last experiment, women in shoes of varying heights were placed in a bar to test how long until a male approached. For women in heels, the average wait time was 7:49 while women in flats waited almost 14 minutes before a man came up to them. [via StyleBlazer]
In summary; the higher the heel, the more attention men will show you.
Should you ask why men are more attracted to women in high heels? Based on the author of the study Nicolas Guéguen, “high heels increased women’s attractiveness for men because of the association of high heels with sexual content displayed in the media. Thus the over-association of heels with women’s sexiness and sexual content could lead men to misinterpret the sexual intent of women with high heels.”
In similar studies, Guéguen also found that men are more likely to offer a ride to female hitchhikers with larger bust sizes, and men are more likely to approach a blonde in a bar over a brunette or redhead.
So, does it mean women should put on some kiiller heels for men to be nicer to them?
