How Celebrities Celebrated The 2020 Mother’s Day

According to a popular saying, “life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” Of course, mothers are the carriers of life and it’s impossible not to celebrate the strength of every motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. As the day set aside for this honor, Nigerian celebrities took to their social media accounts to express their gratitude towards motherhood. Here, from Adesua Etomi, Mercy Aigbe, Tiwa Savage, Omotola Jalade, Juliet Ibrahim, Tonto Dikeh to a host of others as well as Naomi Campbell, click through to see how celebrities honored the Mother’s Day yesterday.

This poem by @titilope definitely describes my mother. It seems as though she was a fly on the wall and saw everything my mother did, does and continues to do for us. I have said this a million times and will continue to say it, my mother is my favourite Heroine. That woman has the kind of strength that I cannot even put into words. That strength, I now see in myself. I really don’t know what kind of woman I would be today if it hadn’t been for God and my mother. Happy Mothers day to my very special mother and all other mothers out there, who put in the work. You all remind us that if we are even a 1/4 of the women and mothers you were, our children will be so very blessed. To celebrate mothers, I will be giving a special hamper to two lucky followers who do my #formamang task. The special hamper would be for your mum. You know she deserves it. Here’s what you need to do to qualify. Please read carefully. Today, I would like you to open your Google App, search for “a Poem for my Mother”, go to the image tab and pick a poem of your choice. Screenshot the poem and post it on your page with a caption dedicated to your mum. Don’t forget to tag me in the post and use #formamang. I will be reading and can’t wait to help you celebrate your mum and put a huge smile on her face. Goodluck and please Stay safe everyone! #formamang

I never posted this image. A lot of you joke with me that I had a surrogate because I never revealed images of my pregnancy. Well here’s me at 9 months October 2016. A week before I gave birth, I really enjoyed the journey of pregnancy; I was lucky because I know a lot of women can have drastic complications, but apart from the usual issues, through the various trimesters, like tiredness, nausea and reflux in the first and back pain in the third! It was pretty relaxed for me; and it was a beautiful summer to fall that year in London. I really felt in bloom. Three and a bit years later, each year has revealed another stage of my daughters life that I become attached to, no matter how challenging (terrible twosss tooo threesss ) I know I’ll miss each one, because once gone I can only reminisce and smile. Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers who decide to nurture and grow our young! #firsttimemom #mothersday @condrycalvinmlilo
