This Is How 24 Celebrities Celebrated Their International Women’s Day

The world cannot exist without the women — they are incredible, smart and the bedrock of our existence. The scientist, doctors, billionaires and all the leaders of the world today are as a result of a woman. Then why does it seem like the world was not built for the women? Why are the political and social structures designed to turn the women down? Why do we hear on the regular that women are being abused? Why, why, why? Whether young or old, there’s a need for every woman to be celebrated, treasured or pampered.

As yesterday Sunday marked the 2020 International Women’s Day, Nigerian celebrities, as well as their Ghanaian and South African counterparts took to social media to raise their voices, send words of encouragement to the voiceless, and celebrate their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. As a platform dedicated to women, keep clicking to read what these 24 celebrities said about the IWD.

We don’t even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, our strength has been amazing. The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome. To me; Survival can be summed up in three words, NEVER GIVE UP. We have been women who always get up again, even if there are setbacks. We have a survivor instinct. We are not sure where it comes from, but probably from all the little things that makes us into who we are. We are WOMEN. Sonia, Juliet, Nadia and our Mom- We are survivors! #ProudMothers #SHeroes #Blessed #AToastToLife #iwd2020 #womensday #generationequality #genderequality @ssoniaibrahim @sheibrahim @lalahnadya Happy women’s Day to all my sisters all over the world! ❤️
