Not everyone can boast of a one-year relationship with their partner but for Adut Akech and her boyfriend, Samuel Elkhier, their bond is waxing stronger.
And yesterday (Saturday, April 1), the South-Sudanese model who has become a global fashion figure took to Instagram to announce their one-year anniversary.
She kicked off the online love fest by sharing a series of intimate snapshots of herself and Elkhier displaying affection on Instagram. The first photo shows the 23-year-old black beauty jumping on her boyfriend while they gaze at each other romantically. The model wore a seriously lime-hued ruffled top and brown skirt while her waist-length braids dangled behind. In the accompanying photos, the smitten couple looked so in love and appeared to be a match made in social media heaven.
“The best kind of love. Best partner in all things,” she captioned the post. “Love doing life with you, you make it really fun. Year 1 done and 100+ more to go 🤞🏾Happy anniversary to us habibi love you ❤️❤️.”

Her comment section was immediately bombarded with sweet messages by fans and colleagues, and her fashion mother Naomi Campbell was not left behind she supported the pair with heart emojis and glasses of wine.
The commemoration came nearly four months since the model went Instagram public with her boyfriend in December 2022, when she celebrated his birthday with a photo of them sunbathing at the beach. Adut dubbed her partner “the man who stole my heart” and the one making her “the happiest girl.”
