Angelina Jolie may be the first who started the thigh-high slit trend in a black velvet gown that showed off miles of her right leg at the 2012 Academy Awards, but South African celebrities are taking it far more than she can ever imagine. Although we’ve seen celebs like Rihanna, Rita Ora, Kim Kardashian, J’Lo, Beyonce and more leaving little to the imagination in high-slit, the daring trend is now becoming a go-to red carpet ensemble for every South African celebrity.
This year, we saw a lot of slits in the South African style scene, not only that, Pinterest boards, Instagram feeds were also flooded with extreme slits, reminding us when we first spotted Bonang Matheba in 2014 striking a pose in an ultra-high slit gown.
