There’s no denying the fact that every woman have good reasons to wear heels. For instance, some women feel more confident when wearing heels, some like the attention it gets them, likewise the ability to elevate height, while others enjoy how heels flatter their bodies by making them appear more slender. With that being said, heels has it own bitter side – which is the excruciating pains it causes, and we all know how tormenting it can be.
This season there’ll be holiday party literally everywhere, that means you don’t have to give any room for your heels to ruin your fun days – whether as a wedding guest, at friend’s party or everything in between. To learn the few ways to make your pumps more comfortable, we tapped into PROFOOT’s podiatrist Dr. Jackie Sutera’s tips shared by Who What Wear.
According to Dr. Sutera, after a long day, kick back and put your feet up first. Then slide your feet into a massager to realign your toes and restore flexibility and circulation. To prevent pain from occurring, choose a heel style that has a wider toe box. But if you are set on a more pointy stiletto with a smaller toe box, a shoe stretcher will make your heels more comfortable and prevent issues like bunions and calluses.
In a breakdown: 1. put your feet up, 2. invest in a toe relaxer, 3. switch out your shoes day to day, and test out a shoe stretcher.
As Who What Wear pointed out, It’s best to alternate your heels throughout the week. If you wear the same shoes or types of shoes every single day, you up your chances of causing ligament or tendon damage from overuse.
