Balenciaga Spring 2018 collection was paraded yesterday at Paris Fashion Week and after the clothes, the shoes are certainly the second thing you’ll notice. The collection, by creative director Demna Gvasalia, features Springs’ favorite pieces such as slouchy dresses but it’s the platform Crocs on the models that will really grab your eye:
Crocs have been getting serious beauty treatment in the past two seasons after a London-based Scottish designer, Christopher Kane collaborated with the brand to revive the walk-about comfy shoes. But while Kane’s makeover was all about animal prints finishing and crystal embellishments, Balenciaga has also teamed up with Crocs to take things to a different dimension. Towering “Foam” platform and unusual embellishments are one of the defining things within the new Balenciaga Crocs. There are very striking, eye-catching, desirable, and comes in different girly hues:
“When Balenciaga approached us, we were intrigued by the opportunity to push the boundaries of our design and molding capabilities to see what we could create together,” Michelle Poole from Crocs said in a statement. “Working with Balenciaga has been so much fun for our team, and once again demonstrates the relevance of our iconic clog in today’s fashion and design world, as well as allowing us to tap into the excitement and energy that comes from unexpected partnerships.”
