Tiwa Savage just made her runway debut, further proving that she’s the next supermodel to watch out for. The Nigerian afro-pop singer strutted the catwalk at The British Museum on Saturday during Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief charity bash at London Fashion Week SS20. The event which was set up by Campbell in 2005 unites the fashion industry to raise funds for various environmental and humanitarian causes.
Walking alongside famous faces like Naomi Campbell, Adut Akech, Stella Maxwell, and Alexa Chung, Tiwa Savage dressed in a shoulder-baring confection, featuring ruched design and asymmetrical hemline. The singer completed the glamorous ensemble with subtle brown makeup and a pair of strappy heeled sandals, while her super long braids were pulled back to descend behind her back.
“Walking for a cause #FashionForRelief2019,” the singer captioned her runway video. Thank you to the Queen @naomi for having me. Omo, I salute these models o, e no easy jesuuuu 🙆🏽♀️😝😍❤️.”
Tiwa also posed with the models after the show, as well as the red carpet, expressing the fact that she’s successfully broke into the international fashion scene. “Love this piece from Matic Velar,” she wrote sharing her red carpet photo. “This Naija babe don dey enter international fashion world o 😝😝Red carpet @ Fashion For Relief 2019.”
As one of the brightest Nigerian musicians who’s been winning and dinning with supermodels like Naomi Campbell as well as rubbing shoulders with international music stars, it’s no big surprise that Tiwa Savage is in the news for her fashion week appearances. She was everywhere during the last week New York Fashion Week and we won’t be surprised either if she slayed herself to the front row seats at the upcoming Milan and Paris Fashion Week.
