Just after Japanese menswear designer, Junya Watanabe sent out his models down the runway at the ongoing 2015 Men’s Fashion Week in Paris, observers pointed out that the collection does not reflect it true origin as it centers around African culture. According to them, designer Junya explored his collection into African-theme but did not feature any black models to portray the real image of the collection.
The white models cat-walked the runway dressed in traditional styled outfits accessorized with Masai necklaces, dried bones, wooden mask and metal spears necklaces, showcasing the entire Junya Watanabe’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. While that is said, the social media have nicknamed the collection as “Rachel Dolezal collection“. Because there was no black models.
