Leave it to Solange Knowles to transform fashion into a stunning work of art.
For her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she performed two tracks, “Rise,” and “Weary,” the singer hit the stage with her backup singers in unexpected looks that left everyone breathless. She wore a draped red jumpsuit connected together with that of her backup singers. As reported, connecting the jumpsuits was all about Solange’s idea, according to the designer — Tina Lawson.
Solange Knowles is no stranger to wearing fashion-infused art. Last month during her debut performance on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, she wore an artistic lingerie set.
Getty Images In an interview in October, the singer told Vogue, “I wanted to express an almost stately look for black men and women because I feel like historically we haven’t been put in the most regal or majestic context…. I wanted to represent black sisterhood, strength, and pride, and elevate the black man and all of his beauty and glory. This was our way of contributing to that narrative.”
