Prada Resort 2018 collection was revealed on Sunday at the Fondazione Prada’s Observatory in Milan, which according to reports was the inspiration behind the collection. Showcased in a glass and iron dome colonnade, models all in braids were paraded in a stellar line-up of transparent feminine pieces with sportswear elements, ranging from shirtdresses, diaphanous pleated skirts to delicate silk dresses fastened with thick black belts, plus the return of knee-high socks, and accessories with modern attitude.

Speaking about the collection, designer Miuccia Prada reaffirmed that the venue was key. “I really have in mind what this place means in history and also I really wanted to do a modernist show, so I started looking at the past. [The collection] resonates with [the venue] because it’s modernist and not at all decadent, but there is the beauty and charm of that period, the feminine eccentricity, and sensuality of that period,” she told WWD.
