Do you wear high heels as frequent as you used to wear few seasons ago? Remember when Victoria Beckham decided to park her adorable Louboutin heels in the garage in favour of comfy shoes like sneakers, then was actually the beginning of slow demise of heels. Yahoo! Style recently reported on a new study conducted by market-intelligence firm Mintel, revealing the shoe styles that are currently hotcakes.
According to the study, for the first time in history, the buying habits of British women is favoring sneakers than high heels in the past year. The report also confirmed that 37% of U.K. women who have bought footwear in the last year bought sneakers, which is higher than the 33% that bought shoes with heels.
As Mintel’s senior fashion analyst, Tamara Sender, pointed out in a statement: “The UK sportswear market has seen strong growth in the last year, and there has been a trend for consumers to integrate sports clothing into their daily wardrobes, meaning trainers have also become more popular among women, overtaking heels to become the second favourite item of footwear after flat shoes.”
While this report has given us a clear evidence that the popularity of heels will fall flat in the nearest seasons, there’s no time better than now to invest on sneakers and also master the art of wearing them. So keep scrolling to shop affordable sneakers that will stand the test of time:
