This Designer Is Using Carpet To Make A Coat For Its Latest Collection

 

 

One of the many things that are keeping the fashion industry fascinating is creativity. Back in April, H&M announced it plans to transform cow poop into wearable clothes as part of a sweeping plan to be 100 percent sustainable by 2040, and prior to that, the brand had already made a stunning confection from plastic waste, proving just how far sustainable materials can be useful. 

Another fashion house that is dipping it toes in the world of creativity is none other than Alexander McQueen. While debuting his first ever menswear collection at Paris Men’s Fashion Week over the weekend, the creative director sent down the runway a line-up of models that paraded in different looks but one model who wore a distressed jacquard coat stood out. 

Apparently, the coat was made out of a carpet and it looks somewhat high fashion. As Harpers Bazaar reported, “Burton turned the rug from McQueen’s Spring 2017 women’s runway inside-out for a distressed, colorful men’s evening coat. The end result was a frayed but polished outerwear piece that made for the ultimate high-fashion DIY.”
