Remember few Month ago, Kyemah McEntyre, the New Jersey African-American teen designed a killed-the-game dress for her prom night that went viral. Well, it’s no surprise that many celebrities has been lusting over her fashion craftsmanship.
McEntyre was made to appear on Tyra Banks’ FABLife talk show on Thursday, and like a big surprise to her, the American top model, Tyra Banks, made quite an impressive entrance to greet the teen girl donning a dress that was self-designed by the high school student. The dress which is made from Kwame Nkrumah’s pencil print, the man who began the independence movement in Africa gave Tyra Banks a flawless goddess look.
Speaking to the teen Banks said – “I am such a fan of you. I saw you on the Internet and you blew me away with your talent, with your beauty,” “This is the beginning of your journey and becoming the force that I know that you can be in the fashion world; this is not existing in the fashion world right now, and it is desperately, desperately needed.”
McEntyre told Banks that the bullying she suffered as a child inspired her to make the dress.
“I was trying to show society that it’s OK to be yourself,” McEntyre said. “I think it’s really important that we let people know that you don’t need someone else to identify your identity.”
