Some months ago, it was reported that skinny jeans were experiencing a dramatic decline, but the recent report we have mustered, has it that skinny jeans has regained it market strength and is now overruling other denim trends. While we may all rejoice for its quick recovery and victory, it is sad to inform you that a certain denim trend we all thought would spend the upcoming Christmas holiday with us is about to die.
Edited.com, data scientist and analyst site compiled an in-depth report on the popularity of different jean styles from a retail perspective, and the data shows that denim culottes just might be over. After analysing 25 major retailers stocked denim for the first quarter of 2016, skinny jeans were by far the most popular style in stores, comprising 40%, followed by flared and wide cut jeans. While denim culottes on the other hand accounted for the lowest percentage of the said period of time.
At this point, even a fashion professor cannot foresee whether culotte denim will make a U-turn just like skinny jeans, but at least, we now know the denim trend that’s blowing up. However, if you had invested on this trend, continue rocking it!
