Hermès bags are among the most coveted and valuable of all fashion items – no only do we think so, even a prophet can attest to that.
According to a new study released from bag resale site Baghunter, the value of Hermès bags as most coveted fashion items among women is likely to overthrow that of diamonds in the nearest future.
“In the last 30 years, diamond prices have seen their ups and downs, as have gold, silver, stock markets, real estate, and just about any investment,”Baghunter CEO Evelyn Fox says in the introduction to the study. “The exception? Hermès bags, in particular the Birkin and Kelly bags, which have seen their values increase five-fold over the last 30 years.”
As reported by Who What Wear, from the example cited by Evelyn Fox: “One Birkin bag recently consigned by Baghunter was purchased in 1980 for $2,000 and is now worth more than $10,000,” she says. “In 2025, it is projected that the same bag will exceed a value of $20,000.”
So ladies if you ask us, this is the right time to splurge on Birkin bags!
