Rather than releasing new collections, sportswear brands are busy re-imaging their old kicks into the new version. First, it was Adidas Originals‘ ’80s Campus Sneakers that was made anew in four colorways and now, Nike has adopted a similar concept to awaken the memories of its ’70s Cortez sneaker after resurrecting its Sock Racer in April. The company made the announcement yesterday that it has revamped the classic style in collaboration with LA-based brand A.L.C.
The new Cortez sneaker comes in three adorable colorways: Oil Grey, Light Orewood Brown, and Terra Blush, featuring a suede upper, a snakeskin heel patch and some sort of empowering message written just on the inner-sole of each pair. The campaign images are pretty chic, making the shoes highly covetable and with its $100 price tag, we’re seeing the stylish kicks selling out fast once it drops at Nike x Nordstrom pop-up boutiques on 25th August while online on Nike, A.L.C., and Net-a-Porter from 28th August.
