For those of us who are obsessed with Louis Vuitton bags, the brand is changing its signature chocolate brown packaging to a shade of yellow, which the brand calls, “Imperial Saffron.”
The news was made available by Vuitton’s CEO, Michael Burke, who told WWD that the rebranding process is about giving the covetable accessories a standout look. “We don’t want the packaging to be fashionable. It’s supposed to have quite a long life cycle. In most cases, brand colors play off of black and white. We wanted to be different,” — said Burk.
As HarpersBazaar pointed out, the new shade isn’t actually all that new for the fashion house as Imperial Saffron has been incorporated into Vuitton pieces dating back to as early as 1924. Concerning the new look which will hit stores next week, expect to see other new features like bright cobalt blue handles and ribbons, which is an entirely new color combo for Louis Vuitton.
