It turned out that New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was filled to the brim with a flock of celebrities in extravagant, over the top ensembles on this year’s event on Monday night and Kim’s Thierry Mugler wet-looking dress was one of a kind.

We love everything about this number, from the dripping beaded crystals that look like water to the figure-hugging fit. What’s more, the soft nude hue is flattering against all skin tones, making it an absolute winner. To give a complete illusion of wetness, Kim aptly wore her hair with a wet look and ensured that her skin looked wet with touches of oil.

“This is the first time in 20 years Mr. Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler,” she told US Vogue. “So to come and design this gown for me is such an honor. This is about eight months in the making. He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping.”
As she further shared on her Insta stories, the designer took the inspiration from Sophia Loren’s wet see-through look from the Boy on a Dolphin movie.

In her Met Gala afterparty, Kim was also decked out in another stunning creation from the same designer: a baby blue skin-tight latex dress with a crystal drip and mesh panel in the front and dangling beads along the plunging neckline.
