After much anticipation, Kathy Griffin is taking over Joan Rivers seat as the new host of E!’s Fashion Police.
As usual, Katty will join existing panelists Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic, and new face Brad Goreski (who is a celebrity fashion stylist and TV personality), who replaces George Kotsiopoulos.
According to the reports, Fashion Police will not be aired as a weekly show again, but 17 times a year on special occasions like the Oscars and Fashion Week.
Kathy in a statement asked Fashion Police fans to accept her as Katty:
“I get it! These are some big shoes I’m going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I’m just Kathy. Did I say I’m just Kathy? I meant I’m Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let’s have some fun!”
Off course the comedienne couldn’t have done it without the blessing of Joan’s daughter, Mellisa Rivers, who is the executive producer of the show.
The report further notes that Joan was close friends with Kathy and served as a mentor. “I’m excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation,” Melissa said in a statement.
