Since making its debut in 2015, Kanye West’s Yeezy collection has grown over the past years, collaborating with other brands for more expansion. A couple of days ago, Kanye even reportedly filed a trademark for Yeezy Beauty, a line that will focus on beauty and skincare products. However, the American rapper is taking another major step but this time, his Yeezy Line is collaborating with Gap.
According to The New York Times, Kanye has struck a 10-year deal with the American retailer to launch a new clothing line, Yeezy Gap, in 2021. The rapper’s partnership is expected to boost Gap’s brand image that is struggling to survive in the oversaturated fashion market.
For this reason, expect to see “modern, elevated basics for men, women, and kids at accessible price points” with West’s “design vision” put into practice. In a press release, Mark Breitbard, the global head of Gap Brand confirmed the news, describing it as ‘a next-level retail partnership.’
“We are excited to welcome Kanye back to the Gap family as a creative visionary, building on the aesthetic and success of his YEEZY brand and together defining a next-level retail partnership,” Breitbard said in a statement.
To also affirm the collaboration, the Gold Digger singer posted a message on Twitter with the caption: “YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER.”
