Esther Okonta Emerges The Winner Of Debut Season of Style Magnate

The excitement surrounding the conclusion of Showmax’s highly-anticipated fashion and design reality show, Style Magnate, has finally come to a thrilling end, with all episodes now available for binge-watching.

After enduring weeks of intense challenges designed to test their design prowess, creativity, and ability to handle unexpected twists, Esther Okonta has made history by being crowned the very first Style Magnate.

As the champion of this inaugural season, Esther Okonta receives a remarkable opportunity to launch her career as a designer for the stars, which is a dream come true for many aspiring fashionistas.

In addition to gaining recognition, she has been awarded a cash prize of N10 million, a three-month internship with a prominent fashion brand, and a stylish one-bedroom apartment. This reward package not only signifies a major step in her career but also represents the hard work and dedication she showcased throughout the competition.

Fashion enthusiasts witnessed an extraordinary display of creativity as the show, created by Abisola Omolade, brought together twenty talented designers. Each participant was pushed to their limits, facing difficult tasks that often left audiences on the edge of their seats. From avant-garde creations to the palpable drama of weekly eliminations, the show kept viewers enthralled with its unique blend of artistry and competition.

In the gripping final episode, the top five designers—Zuweirat, Sildek, Esther, Itunu, and Philip—were challenged to create a three-look collection for a celebrity client. The pressure mounted as each designer worked diligently to prove they had what it took to secure the victory.

The ultimate judgment of the designers’ creations fell to a panel of esteemed fashion experts, including the show’s Maestro, Mai Atafo, and renowned designers Ejiro Amos Tafiri and Ugo Monye. They were joined by Tosin Ogundadegbe of Style Infidel, while Yolanda Okereke and Joseph Benjamin served as Fashion Principal and Host, respectively.

Esther’s innovative collection, titled “Shades of Strength”, was inspired by powerful, confident women—a theme that resonated deeply with both the judges and the audience. Ultimately, her collection was voted the best, paving her way to victory.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind Style Magnate, Abisola Omolade shared insights on the show’s mission to foster local talent and highlight the vibrant fashion landscape. Omolade remarked that the competition was designed not just as a platform for showcasing skills but also as an avenue to promote professional growth within the fashion industry.
