Beyonce is upping her game as ever but this time she’s making history in the fashion world. Queen Bey has just become the first Black woman to wear the iconic 200 Carats of Tiffany & Co Diamonds that was previously worn by Audrey Hepburn and two other people.
Appearing in Tiffany & Co’s new “About Love” campaign alongside her husband Jay Z, Beyonce looks fabulous in a black figure-hugging cut-out dress, which for sure complemented Jay’s black tuxedo. The mother-of-three could be seen adorning her neck with a long chain of 128.54 carats by the American luxury jewelry brand, featuring the priceless Fancy Yellow diamond. According to the reports, the stunning piece of jewelry was originally unearthed in South Africa in 1877.
“Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the epitome of the modern love story,” Alexandre Arnault, Tiffany & Co’s executive vice president of product and communications said in a statement. “As a brand that has always stood for love, strength, and self-expression, we could not think of a more iconic couple that better represents Tiffany’s values. We are honored to have the Carters as a part of the Tiffany family.”
Aside from Mrs. Carter, other names who have worn the stunning piece include Mary Whitehouse, wife of American diplomat Edwin Sheldon Whitehouse, Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn, and singer Lady Gaga. It might however be surprising to note that this is the first time the power couple is starring in a campaign together and according to the brand, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s shoot is the first time the diamond has been featured in an advertising campaign.
Meanwhile, the iconic campaign was shot by Mason Poole while June Ambrose and Marni Senofonte styled the Lemonade singer and her husband.
