Adriana Lima Is Not Planning To Leave Victoria’s Secret Despite Her Shocking Instagram Post

As a famous supermodel who has worked with Victoria’s Secret for 18 years, it was undeniably heart-pounding to fans when Adriana Lima posted on her Instagram on Sunday saying, “I will not take off my clothes anymore for an empty cause.” Of course, due to her unexpected statements, which also emphasized on body stereotype, the internet was thrown into a serious frenzy, with many asking whether the Brazillian-born runway queen is quitting modeling or finally hanging up her wings. But it turns out, Adriana isn’t dropping her wings, not this year or next.

According to People’s report, the 36-year-old’s “empty cause” statement was actually “a message of female empowerment” not to her beloved VS brand, which she has worked with since 1999.

💜I had received a call for the possibility of filming a sexy video of me to be posted and shared in social media. Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body, then it made me think…. that everyday in my life, I wake up thinking, how do I look? Was I going to be accepted in my job? And in that moment I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc imposed…. i thought that’s not a way of living and beyond that…. that’s not physically and mentally healthy, so I decided to make that change….. I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause…..💜✨ #Embraceyouself #natureisbeautiful #naturalissexy #LOVEYOU 💜✨

“As Adriana mentioned in her post she received a recent offer where she was not aligned with the direction,” a rep for Lima told People. “Adriana is blessed to be able to work with all of the brands she does including Victoria’s Secret.”

To clear things up even further, the supermodel had told People last month in China that she plans to walk some more years before quitting. “I plan to be at 20. Two more years. Maybe more, I don’t know,” she said. “It’s nature. I’m working out, I’m being healthy, so let’s see how the body is going to turn out. But I enjoy it. So let’s say 20.”
