Tiwa Savage has made it known to all on Instagram that she was in Brazil.
The Nigerian Afropop music star was in the country’s 2nd largest city Rio de Janeiro for the 2023 “Back to Black Festival,” a cultural event that celebrates and promotes the black culture in Brazil.
Held annually, the Back2Black Festival is also aimed at entertaining, raising awareness, furthering cultural exchange, and rebuilding bridges, bringing Brazil back in touch with its African Heritage.
Tiwa Savage seized the opportunity to explore the city and not only did she pull the crowd during her performance but the 43-year-old Nigerian music superstar enjoyed the sandy beach of Rio de Janeiro with her mystery boyfriend.
In a series of photos shared on her Instagram, Savage was covered all over with the Gucci logo-print swimwear set, featuring a headscarf, the GG stretch jersey bikini, and a cover-up. She accessorized the look with oversized hoop earrings and waist beads that added more interest to her washboard abs.
The Stamina singer had also shared a post where she wore the yellow and green Brazilian jersey with a matching scarf, a pair of blue denim pants, and yellow sneakers. In the 3rd slide of the post, she can be seen in the video enjoying a motorcycle ride around the highly populated streets of Rio de Janeiro. “Took a ride to the favela, “te amo Brazil” ❤️,” the post captioned.
On Monday, May 22, 2023, Tiwa Savage announced that she will be embarking on a North American tour this summer. The tour is produced by Live Nation and Duke Concept and the 10-day music concerts will start on August 24 at Washington, D.C.’s The Theater at MGM National Harbor and go through other major U.S. cities like New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and more, before ending at Los Angeles’ Belasco on September 17.
