Is it in the movie or in real life? That’s exactly what we asked ourselves when we first saw the pictures of a French model Thylane Blondeau and Russian actress Svetlana Ustinova wearing the same dress while attending the premiere of the film Loveless (Nelyubov) at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. Although, in a red carpet season like now, wardrobe disasters are expected, but not public figures wearing the same dress to the same event — because, let’s face it, celebrities are always on the hunt to stand out.
The dress in question is by Dior, plucked off from its Spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection. It features an embroidered tank bodice with spaghetti straps and the full tulle skirt is covered all over with doodles. We’re not sure whether the starlets frowned at each other but their facial expression screams unhappiness.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a similar situation. A few weeks ago, here in Africa, it was a complete nightmare and the weirdest thing we’ve ever seen when about six celebrities wore the same dress to Namibia Music Awards. So next time you’re making a red carpet appearance, ask your designer a lot of questions.
