Having reached the apex in her modeling career, a 50-year birthday is an important one for Naomi Campbell and she celebrated it yesterday by throwing back to her years of humble beginnings. The supermodel has been in the industry for over 3 decades, walking all the coveted runway shows, winning countless campaigns, and gracing the cover of many magazines.
In honor of this gracious milestone, the original supermodel took to social media to share some photos of her first fashion gig, rocking a sleeveless black dress with her super long signature tresses cascading down the shoulders. In another photo, the 50-year-old also showed some skin in a barely-there dress, proving that the naked dress isn’t and a new trend. “Where it all began ❤️,” captioned the photos.
Naomi looked youthful in the photos and it just goes to show how young she was when she started modeling. According to a report, the model started her career at the age of 15 and became the first black woman to appear on the cover of French Vogue and the first black model on the cover of Time.
She also shared a photo of her at 3 and when she was a baby. “Thank you Mum for giving me life I love you ❤️,” the supermodel captioned her infant photo while thanking her Jamaican-born mother, Valerie Morris.
So far, Naomi Campbell is one of the prominent names in the modeling and fashion industry and having come this far with remarkable accomplishments, we are wishing her more years of greater things. Happy Birthday, Naomi!
