Every First Lady has their own go-to ensembles when it comes to diplomatic meetings. Take, for instance, Michell Obama used to rely on sexy formal dresses with sweeping maxi hemlines, sleeveless and bare shoulder silhouettes. But now, there’s Melania Trump who is renowned for experimenting every wearable piece of fashion.
In the past few seasons, the pantsuit has been given different twists by celebrities, models, style stars and the menswear-inspired trend continues to be a huge focus in women’s fashion.
Naturally, Melania Trump is on board and while joining the POTUS Donald Trump to welcome Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie, to the White House on Wednesday, she stepped out in a sharp pinstriped, grey pantsuit from Ralph Lauren Collection. In fact, the sartorially savvy FLOTUS took things one step further and opted for a crisp, white button-down shirt with a black tie which she left to freely hang around her neck like a true fashion girl.
Just in case you’re a starter, the FLOTUS has a past in the fashion industry. She was a fashion model before marrying the Twitter-freak president in 2005 — which means her past is related to her streak of excellent style points.
