Meghan Markle Looked Officially Chic At Her Smart Works Clothing Line Launch
September 13, 2019
Whether she’s on a royal tour, or simply engaging herself in some royal ceremonies, Meghan Markle knows how to dress for the occasion. But even when she’s on her personal mission, she remains impossibly stylish. Yesterday, the Duchess of Cambridge was seen arriving at London’s flagship John Lewis store for the official launch of her capsule work collection with women’s organization Smart Works.
For the occasion, the new mom wore a crisp white shirt with a pair of black trousers, complete with brown accessories, showing her own take on pants and shirt workwear look.

According to the official Instagram account for the Sussex, the workwear capsule collection featuring 5 pieces of classic wardrobe pieces will raise money for Smart Works — a charity organization that provides support for unemployed and disadvantaged women who want to go back to the work environment.
Partnering with M&S, Jigsaw, Misha Nonoo, John Lewis, the range includes a white button-down shirt, blazer, a pair of work pants, and of course, the perfect work dress — all of which are named The Smart Set.

“I am excited to celebrate the launch of another initiative of women supporting women, and communities working together for the greater good,” the Duchess said in a statement. “When you buy any item in the Smart Set Capsule Collection for Smart Works, the same item will be given to a Smart Works client, and with it, the confidence and support she needs to enter the workforce and take an important step in building a career.”
Meghan also went ahead to express her gratitude to the brands which have supported the initiative. “Thank you to the four brands who came together in supporting Smart Works on this special project – placing purpose over profit and community over competition,” she added. “In convening several companies rather than one, we’ve demonstrated how we can work collectively to empower each other – another layer to this communal success story, that I am so proud to be a part of.”
Meanwhile, the jacket will be sold at £199, dress £19.50, trousers £199, while the shirt goes for £125.
