We were over the moon to hear that Tracee Ellis Ross is launching phase two of her PATTERN Beauty. The new haircare collection, according to Ross is a celebration of black beauty. “As we continue to protest and gather and strategize and hold those in power accountable and reimagine our future and vote, I am reminded that celebrating Black beauty is a part of this revolution,” She said in a video on Instagram. “And I’m reminded of the urgency that propelled me to persist for 10 years to create Pattern.”
As slated to be officially rolled out today 19th June (Juneteenth), a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, phase two of PATTERN Beauty features over 15 new products and kits for styling black hair patterns. This includes Wide Tooth Comb, Hair Pick, Edge Tool, Curl Gel, Styling Cream, Edge Control & more.
“Prepare your edges, gather your curls, turn up the volume, celebrate our roots—this is the revolution,” the actress and singer said in the campaign video which features different black creatives showcasing their kinky hair.
While everyone in the back community is clearly excited about Tracee’s hair care line which debuted its first collection last year in September, she also declared Bantu Knots her favorite hairstyle, making the cute, flirty ’90s African hairstyle her newest obsession. Ross made the declaration to her 8.3m Instagram followers with of photo of her rocking the traditional hairstyle.
Although she’s no stranger when it comes to slaying Bantu Knots anywhere possible, we just think this is one hairstyle that looks good on the singer. You can shop for the Pattern Beauty haircare line here.
