As a woman, we all love long hair — the Kind of hair that cascades down the shoulders giving off some Angelina Jolie’s vibes or at least a hair long enough to hover around the shoulders. There’s just that feeling that comes with frequently tucking the side of the hair behind the ear but if you want to know the advantage of sporting short hair, Tiffany Haddish will answer all your questions.
On Tuesday, the American actress and comedian who’s been sporting faux locs in the past two months took to Instagram Live to give herself a dramatic transformation. During the Livestream, Haddish brought out a pair of scissors and without wasting time, her locs were chopped off. “I cut all my hair off cause I want to see my Scalp,” Haddish captioned the video. “I know my whole body I know where every mole is but I don’t know my Scalp. So hello Scalp #SheReady to everything.”
However, after the shocking transformation, some fans applauded her for the decision while others expressed fear that the actress might be losing her mind. Haddish posted another video explaining that the big chop is not connected to any emotional trauma or mental problem, adding that she’s still going to cut everything off.

“I’m going to cut all of it off,” she said. “Why when a woman decides, Hey I’m going to cut this hair off because I want to see my scalp, she got to have a mental problem? Nothing is wrong with my brain, you guys. I’ve literally been talking about this for years. I want to see my scalp.”
For those who were surprised, Haddish just wanted to be free — free from heavy locs and even stopped worrying about her hair getting wet. According to the actress, she can now do her workout properly.
“It’s the first time I jumped in the shower and was not concerned about not getting my hair wet. And it felt so good,” she explained. “You could see my face even better. My neck don’t hurt. You know how heavy them locs were?! That’s a lot of neck work. Now we’re just, boom, shoulders [are] relaxed. My gait is better. And now I can go running every day. I can train my ass off every single day and not have to worry about ‘oh, my hair.’”

Haddish also knows that a black woman’s hair is time-consuming when it comes to styling and that could be used for something else. “Let’s just be honest, as a Black woman, that’s a good hour to two or three hours of your day. It is a lot of work. So I’m taking time off,” she added. “I’m going to use that same energy that I would have been putting to my hair into my mind.”
