Lupita Nyong’o is a woman who likes to push boundaries. Whether in fashion or the beauty department, the actress is hell-bent on trying new things and we like to think her new hairstyle is due to her continued urge to embrace natural beauty.
Yesterday, the actress unveiled a fresh new look, surprising her social media followers with a bald head after completely shaving off her hair. It is unclear whether Nyong’o shaved her locks for a role in a movie but she did hint at “Dora Milaje,” a distinctive look of the female warriors known for shaving their heads.
They are also the fictional characters appearing in American comic books, and films such as Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and so on!
In Black Panther, Dora Milaje was seen in their leader Okoye, which was played by Danai Gurira.
However, Nyong’o admitted in the caption that she was happy with her new look, leaving fans to shower her with praises in the comment section. “Happy without hair!” the 40-year-old wrote in the caption.

Nyong’o’s shaved head doesn’t come as a big surprise though, as switching from one hairstyle to another is common in the celebrity world. Prior to the major hair transformation, the Kenyan-American star usually rocked short ‘dos, but now making her new look a major departure from her signature hair look.
