Ance is not one of those things worthy of celebration. It’s unattractive, embarrassing, and a real problem when it comes low self-esteem and body image but like Kendall Jenner said after parading her ance on the 2018 Golden Globes red carpet, “never let that shit stop you.”
Of course, as humans, no one can deny the struggles with acne, hence a bunch of women, including celebrities and models on social media are posting their barefaced looks as a rally for #skinpositivity; a campaign to encourage other women around the world who are feeling insecure, depressed from this disturbing skin disease.
Australian model, Bella Lucia, who is also lending her voice for the #skinpositivity movement affirmed that “no one is perfect” after a sharing her bare-face and makeup looks. According to the swimwear model whose Instagram feed is filled with lingerie images, she struggled with the skin disease for many years and that “that your looks don’t define you.”
“No one is perfect,” she said. “Left is me as a teenager. I struggled with acne for many years as a young girl, not only was it isolated to just my face but it affected my chest and back. This severely affected my self-esteem and I had to stop modeling as a result. I’m posting this to hopefully help those out there suffering from acne or anyone worrying about the way they look because when I was young I wish someone would have told me that your looks don’t define you and even the “models” you see on advertisements aren’t perfect.”
That being said, acne is a real struggle and while most women cover it up with a serious concealer, it does not, in all honesty, define you — which means: “never let that shit stop you.”
Thank you for such a nice article. I will link back from my blog to
your article. I would like to add a point as well.
Though it might work slower to actually prevent acne, it
can lessen inflammation and redness related to acne overnight.
