15 Years “In Full Bloom”: Lagos Fashion Week Opens With Official Press Cocktail
Heineken Lagos Fashion Week marked its 15th anniversary with an exclusive Press Cocktail in Lagos, bringing together fashion designers, editors, influencers, and partners for an evening of celebration ahead of the main shows. The press cocktail for Lagos Fashion Week 2025 was held on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Lagos.
The event, themed “In Full Bloom,” captured the growth of Lagos Fashion Week from a local platform into a global movement shaping African fashion. The relaxed evening offered an opportunity for guests to connect, reflect, and anticipate another exciting season of creativity and collaboration.
Since its debut in 2011, Lagos Fashion Week (LagosFW) has become a driving force in the continent’s fashion scene, spotlighting emerging fashion designers and championing sustainable practices. Its 15-year journey mirrors the rise of African fashion itself: bold, innovative, and full of promise.
Speaking at the cocktail, Omoyemi Akerele, founder of Style House Files and LagosFW, highlighted the importance of growth and community. “Fifteen years represents more than a milestone. It’s proof that African creativity continues to bloom, influence, and inspire,” she said.
The Press Cocktail set the tone for this year’s edition, which runs from October 29 to November 2, 2025, featuring onsite and offsite runway shows, talks, and experiences across Lagos. The lineup celebrates African craftsmanship, sustainability, and new design voices reshaping global fashion narratives.
Lagos Fashion Week 2025 is title sponsored by Heineken and supported by Lush Hair, Nivea, Bank of Industry, Meta (Facebook), Afreximbank, African Finance Corporation, MTN, the Lagos State Government, Moët & Chandon, and Style House Files.
As the city prepares to host designers and guests from across the continent, this milestone year stands as a reminder: African fashion is not emerging; it’s in full bloom.
