There was a stellar guest list on Saturday (October 4) when Pierpaolo Piccioli showcased his first collection for Balenciaga in Paris.
And while Meghan Markle has been providing us with outfit inspiration aplenty ever since her active days as the Duchess of Sussex, social media was abuzz yesterday as she graced the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, marking her debut at one of the industry’s most prestigious events.
The Duchess of Sussex made a memorable entrance, dressed in an ethereal white ensemble that epitomized elegance and sophistication. The standout piece of her outfit, a dramatic cape, enveloped her shoulders and flowed into a stunning train that trailed behind her.

The elegant combination highlighted her fashion sense and also paid homage to classic tailoring with a modern twist. She complemented her outfit with a pair of black satin Balenciaga Knife heels with pointed toes, and a sleek black purse that added a touch of contrast to her ethereal appearance. Her hair was styled in a tight bun, showcasing her refined features and poised demeanor.
In true social media-savvy fashion, Meghan shared a glimpse of her arrival on her Stories, posting a video of her feet striding confidently toward the show.

According to a source who spoke with People, Meghan has admired Piccioli’s artistry and craftsmanship for years, having worked closely together on numerous design projects for significant public appearances. The representative expressed that Meghan’s appearance was a celebration of their enduring friendship and mutual respect in the fashion industry.
“Over the years, the duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage,” the source shared while adding that, “she has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”
The Duchess was, however, seen posing with Piccioli after the show. The two engaged in conversation, followed by a warm hug—an endearing reminder of their friendship carved over years of collaboration.
Meghan Markle’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week marks an exciting continuation of her journey within the fashion world, as she further affirms her role as a style icon.
Recall her previous all-white suit look in April 2022, a stylish choice from Valentino during the Invictus Games Friends and Family reception in the Netherlands, when Pierpaolo was the creative director of the brand at the time.
