Tems made history with her voice, and her outfit added to the moment.
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, became the first African musician to ever perform at the FIFA Club World Cup Final Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
It was a career-defining moment on one of football’s grandest stages, and Tems didn’t just deliver vocally; she brought a wardrobe that amplified her presence.

The neckline curved into a single sleeve, adding asymmetry. The fitted bodice of the top hugged her figure, draping at the waist and a hemline reminiscent of Tinkerbell’s dress, giving the look a playful yet sculpted finish. Beneath, her flared trousers brought cohesion to the outfit, catching light with every move she made on stage.
Tems’s hairstyle elevated the entire look, literally. At the front, she wore neat cornrows, and the back flowed in voluminous curls.

Her lips had a glossy, warm berry tone finish that sealed the look. Gold-toned accessories, including dangling earrings, rings, and a gold bracelet, brought even more detail to the already dazzling outfit.
Even the backup dancers added to the visual harmony. They wore yellow tops and matching shorts, styled with long white socks, detachable white sleeves, and black belts, offering a bright contrast to Tems’s outfit.
Tems’ FIFA Club World Cup outfit shimmered and moved in sync with her performance, embodying the kind of confidence that she has become known for. Each fashion choice, from silhouette to styling, played its part in what was more than just a performance.

Just this year, she became the first Nigerian female artist to debut at the Met Gala and has continued to soar with appearances on major Hollywood film soundtracks. Her trajectory is not just impressive, it’s a redefinition of global representation for African talent.
