With Vogue’s March cover, there is a greater hope for solving the diversity gap in the fashion industry. The lack of diversity on fashion runways and campaigns has been the hottest debate in the past years — models of color, plus-size and older models has, of course, been underrepresented, which prompted calls for more inclusivity. But now, Vogue wants you to know the future is brighter than now.

For their March issue, the magazine assembled 7 renowned models that include Ashley Graham (a notable plus-size model), 2 women of color (Imaan Hammam & Adwoa Aboah), and Liu Wen, Vittoria Ceretti, Gigi Hadid, and Kendall Jenner to represent the industry. The cover which was shot in Malibu saw the leggy models wearing black Prada turtlenecks and printed hot pants on the beach. As Popsugar pointed out, “they were celebrating how the fashion world is finally coming around to the idea of beauty in all forms.”
While Vogue’s latest cover is undeniably sending a strong message of equality to the fashion industry, there’s greater hope so see more models of color, size 14 models being cast for the coming fashion weeks.
