It appears Kanye West is sick with the fashion industry. First, being a rapper dad who voluntarily dresses his wife for fashion week party, and a fashion designer who caused the internet to go wild with memes over his tattered Yeezy Season 2 Clothes. His foray into fashion may not have been straightforward, but having been able to debut his second collection to a star-studded crowd – from Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Lorde, Anna Wintour, Seth Myers, Miguel, Tyga, Fabolous and more, his limit has no bounds.
In a recent interview with Show Studio, the 38-year-old rapper turned fashionista and soon-to-be US president, claims he was initially discriminated against in the industry – because he wasn’t gay. He also believes that people laughed at him when he ventured into fashion design. Read below and share your thoughts in the comment:
‘I feel like I got discriminated in fashion for not being gay.
‘In music, you definitely get discriminated in music if you are gay. It takes amazing talents to break down barriers. The people that break the stereotypes make history.’
‘Everyone is sitting laughing at me… me sitting here trying my absolute hardest and everyone is laughing at me.
‘They were definitely f****** not letting me in the shows and laughing at me.’
