It was the biggest night for Nollywood stars at the 2017 AMVCAs and of course, you would expect your favorite actresses to put their best foot forward. Everyone pulled out all the stops to look their best but there’s always the best of all, which is why we’re filtering the red carpet for our 8 favorite looks for the event.
When Somkele Idhalama walked up the stage to accept her ‘Trailblazer Award,’ all we could stare at was her custom Adrea Iyamah burgundy dress. The high-necked dress with one sleeve and thigh-high slit was perfect to channel her classic Nollywood siren, which she completed with matching lips, manicure, and killer heels.
Chika Ike arrived the red carpet late but that didn’t stop the actress from stealing the show. Her Erica Moore custom gown was already enough for the best-dressed spot, but because it was Chika Ike, the perfect accessories were vital.
Nana Akua Addo
All the way from Ghana, Nana Akua Addo continues to raise her red carpet status to the max. Her gown was elegant and a major fashion moment on the AMVCA 2017 red carpet. In fact, the black beauty almost outshined her Nollywood counterparts.
Rita Dominic was nominated for the ‘Best Actress’ category and it was the perfect opportunity to dip herself in gold, which honestly, was a perfection.
Adesua Etomi may have lost her 2016 AMVCA trophy to Rita Dominic, but she took home the best-dressed. That is because her princess-worthy gown with floral motifs by Mai Atafo was nothing short of perfection.
If you thought Toyin Abraham wasn’t going to make this list, that means she is disappointing you. With her off-the-shoulder ballgown, sparkling accessories, Toyin was the belle of the ball as she walked majestically into the building.
Leave to it Eku Edewor to hit the red carpet in a very unique and chic way. Her floor-grazing jumpsuit was simple yet oozed out plenty of style flavor but if you think it isn’t enough for the spot, her Asian umbrella really overshadowed others.
She may not be a household name just yet but think about her 2017 AMVCA look — from the silhouette to the fit — of course, her look is worth shouting about.
